For Christians Baptism in the outward sign of the inward reality that we have come to place our hope and faith in Jesus.

Membership in the local church is a priviledge and as Jesus says, being a committed part of His Body is one of the greatest gifts we recieve when we choose to follow Him (Matthew 19:27-30).
